My Beautiful Cape Town

It’s hard not to be besotted with this city. Yesterday afternoon, Julian, David and I took a drive into Cape Town via Hout Bay. We stopped on Chapman’s Peak for a few photos…

Further on, we stopped at the top of Chappies and enjoyed the majestic mountain and see views…

Hout Bay…

And on this hot Cape Town day, a Malay wedding party had their photos taken in the same spot…

It was easily 34C right there. Further on in Cape Town, it went up to about 37 but only for a short time.

We stopped at a couple of places before winding our way home.

Today has been cooler and there has been a few short showers. We need more rain.

This morning, my colleague contacted me to ask me to take over a whole lot of her work. Due to unforeseen circumstances, she will need to be in and out the office this week. I had to drop what I was doing and try and be of service.

By afternoon, the work was done and Julian and I took a windy walk up Boyes Drive. It looked very threatening but only rained as I was approaching home.

Before I dropped Julian at his house, we stopped into a show house and had a look around. The estate agents asked me if I was looking to buy. I said no, but that we had a house up the road and were thinking of building behind it and were weighing up our options.  When I told them where it was, the one estate agent, Simon, immediately said, I know the house. My grandparents lived there for many years from about 1959. (I know it was built in about 1951). He went onto tell me that one day they came home and a massive boulder had fallen down the mountainside and crashed through the roof right onto the toilet! He said the Argus came out to take some photos and printed a story on it and he may still have the article. I was so interested. How fun to have that piece of history.

I have been wondering about the feasibility of building and today my mind was put at ease. The other estate agent said, “You definitely don’t want to buy. Whatever you do, build behind your current house. You can’t go wrong.”

That was just the direction I needed to hear.

Isaiah 7:11

“Ask the LORD your God for a sign, whether in the deepest depths or in the highest heights.”

The Lord knows your needs, every single one.

#278 of my 1000 thanks is for the words of that estate agent – don’t buy -build! You can’t go wrong.

So grateful!

These are the days!

Keep the smile going!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
