Don’t Go Through an Early Green

Thursday

The other day I was at a major traffic intersection about to turn right. In the lane next to me was a taxi, also turning right. We were waiting for the lights to change. The taxi driver saw they were about to change so he started accelerating going through a late red. Only problem was a car coming from the right going straight, was going through a late amber, early red. The taxi very nearly connected with the car. There was a screech of brakes, the car hooted and swerved rapidly to avoid the collision. The taxi braked, and let the car pass before speeding off. The driver of the car glared at the taxi! Don’t go through an early green, I thought. If they had connected I would have had a front row seat to a horrible accident. I’m really glad that didn’t happen. Both were rushing but the taxi was at fault. It was a good reminder to slow down.

So today dawned magnificently with rain and wind. I have been wrapped up warmly while I work.

It’s been a quiet day with a trip to the gym and a second trip out to the Mall where I spent close to an hour knitting in a knitting project. The aim is to knit squares which are then to be sewn together to make blankets for Living Hope. More than 1000 squares have been knitted so far. It is a great way to  meet people.

While I have been working at my desk, I’ve been hearing a strange noise behind our house. An hour or two ago, Mike and I took a walk to investigate. This Caterpillar machine has been doing a zen like pattern smoothing down the bank.

It’s looking good. They have spent a considerable amount of time on leveling this space and getting the gradient of the bank right. It looks almost finished.

Now it’s time for me to go and sort out dinner.

Psalm 23:4

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

Helga xx 🙂
