Monday
Today was the day…
David summited the highest mountain in Bali.
Notice it is a volcano and there was steam coming out of it and ash all the way up it. David described the trip down as perilous. He fell once, scraping his arm, but got down without further incident. One of the problems though is that he was picked up at 9pm and they drove for 2 hours before starting the climb at 11pm. They summited at sunrise.
They rested for 45 minutes or so and then began the dreadful descent, exhausted from the uphill journey, sleep deprived, hungry and not hydrated enough. By the time he got back, he was physically finished. He had an hour English class to take on his return, so rushed into his room and immediately had a shower to wash off the dirt and the ash.
And that was when the REAL drama began. While in the shower, he started hearing what sounded like banging on his door. He waited and then it was really hard banging. What the heck. He opened the shower and saw the door moving on its own.
Fortunately, it didn’t cause the ceiling to fall in, but it rattled him for sure! What an experience. He had a super adrenaline rush that geared him up for his English class.
We had a video call with him after that and he filled in all the details of the massive hike up the mountain and the drama of the earthquake. David’s most memorable day. We are grateful for his safety.
For me, I worked 8 hours, did the washing and am about to go for a walk.
Romans 5:1
Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
