Dam Levels Above 60%

It’s not 80% but to see the dam levels get up to over 60% is so wonderful!

They are also up on 2016 when at this time they were 57.9%. That carried us through to 2017 when the real crisis began.  It appears the water restrictions of 50 litres per person per day won’t change until the dam levels get to 80%.  We need a lot more rain for that to happen. This evening as we walked down to the Sun Valley pond there was a little more drizzle and since arriving home, there have been some showers.

A young Egyptian goose came flying in for a quick swim…

Suddenly there was a hair-raising squawking coming from his mother (or perhaps his wife). She was on a rooftop shouting raucously at him to come in for dinner ( I guess). He dashed up the bank and off he went…

Today we got our first quote for the plans submission. R27 500 and it includes getting it through council and a number of other things. We’ll wait for the rest. They have until Wednesday. I’m going to start a spreadsheet for all the costs. It makes a huge difference going in with Julian, because all the costs are halved.

So happy day #762 of my 1000 thanks is for 5 hours of work done today. With our build, every hour worked is becoming important!

Elsie is 13 weeks old. Tomorrow she is 3 months old. She is such a superstar baby. She is oh so tiny, but just her existence is inspirational. She is God’s blessing to us.

Psalm 37:3

Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
