The first Christmas cake of 2011 is in the oven and must come out at about 6pm!
The fruit looked particularly plump & yummy today…
I have taken lots of photos as I’ve finished making the cake and will be putting the balance of the recipe and those pics up on the Christmas Cake page, after I’ve posted this blog!
The day dawned windy but sunny…
Today & next Thursday PJ is away so David joined me in the broadcast studio between 7 & 8am and the conversation became a bit personal. Always entertaining having David in the studio to point out some of my flaws…
Main point of conversation was the ‘tantrum spoon.’ I threw this on the floor when David made me blow my top about 11 years ago! I always kept the spoon as a reminder to never have such a tantrum again! He had lost his brand new tracksuit top (he left it on the school playing field!) the FIRST day it was in use. Throwing the spoon on the floor was the alternative behaviour to whacking him with it! I got so many messages from Moms who “understood exactly!” Enough said! 🙂 🙂 (The top was found in lost property the next day! )
The Bible says quite a bit about anger…Psalm 37:8 is pretty to the point…
Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper–it only leads to harm.
We use the spoon almost every day! It has stood me in good stead – I haven’t had a tantrum in 11 years! 🙂
Back to finishing off the Christmas Cake recipe for this site and I still have to finish my show prep… oh yes, and cook dinner.
