Cape Town Cycle Race Day

Sunday

Today was the day…

of the Cape Town Cycle Race. That’s what it is now called. The day dawned with decidedly autumnal weather – drizzle and cloud with a northerly breeze – an absolute delight for the race organisers whose biggest fear for their day is a gale force south-easter. None of that today.

The north wind pushed the cyclists to Cape Point & provided a gentle headwind on the journey back to the city. We walked down to Fish Hoek and back enjoying the cycle race vibe.

Vicci posted this photo of the baboon at Fish Hoek circle during the cycle race….

On our return, we had brunch of bacon and eggs.  I did a bit of work and then this afternoon, when the race was over, the roads were opened, we drove to Simon’s Town, parked the car and walked 4km to Miller’s Point and 4km back.

As we were walking, suddenly we found ourselves with company.

Miller’s Point troop of baboons. They have no fear of traffic, wandering over the road as if they own the place. Mike & I increased our speed – we didn’t want them too close. We lost them when we go to the Black Marlin turn off. They seemed to stop there, perhaps lured by the smell of food.

Lovely to have a cooler day.  I feel rested enough for the new week.

John 1:14

The Word became  human and made His home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
