Burst Water Pipe

Thursday

Today was the day…

We didn’t swim – the wind blew. It has died down now and we are hoping it will stay like this until tomorrow morning, so we can get a swim in.

Courage worked the entire day to get the new security gate in place at the entrance to the Little Lookout. It looks pretty good. Hopefully, the next one won’t take quite so long. I’m not sure when he’ll get the Seaview Apartment’s up. I really want a double lock entry at each of these units.

What’s  nice is the gate completely folds away & matches the lattice! Who knew!

We went shopping this morning. I needed some extra linen – protective linen, so I got a really nice tight-fitting double bed mattress protector and 4 pillow protectors from Pep Home. Best prices and the ones I got were good quality. The kettle in the apartment wasn’t working, so we bought a new kettle and we bought a 2 plate table top stove. A successful rapid hour of shopping.

Home to work and to report the burst water pipe right in front of our house. There has been water oozing out the tar, in the middle of the road for a number of days. While we had guests, I was hesitant to report it because I know these things can take days to repair. Today, with the cottage empty, I phoned the Council. This evening I went down to the cottage and there was the city working for me!

A stitch in time saves 9. It was a small pipe leaking. It was easy to find and fix. The water is back on.

My guests are over Namibia…

They are due in just before 10:30pm. They will be met by Don from ‘Drive with Don’ – useful to know about him. He will drop me a line from the airport to give me an estimated time of arrival. I am not a night person. I’ve set the alarm for midnight. I don’t think they will arrive before half past 12. Meet, greet, hand over the key, sleep well. All I’m doing now is printing out Wifi instructions because those I usually Whatsapp. A few weeks ago, Mike dug out an old laminator and I’ve got it heating up, so I can laminate the Wifi instructions. It smells like it’s cooking something! Mike’s just come in from adjusting the LL outside light. He told me I have to open a little flap to let the heat out. I’m waiting for the green light. The smell is abating. You are getting a blow by blow account of Helga’s poor laminating skills!

Let me go and do it!

Psalm 20:4

May He grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed!

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

PS. David arrived safely at Stillbaai.
