Blue Moon

Wednesday

Dear Elsie

Tonight there is a blue moon! We got to see it for a few minutes before the clouds rolled in ahead of the cold front.

But what we did get to look at was the morning sun. Before it got too bright it was covered by a thick layer of haze making it possible to look at it.

It was quite remarkable and something I’d never seen before.

The day cooled and tomorrow we are expecting rain in the afternoon and a maximum temperature of only 13! Also, tomorrow I take the cats to the vet, so I’ll be pleased to get that done before the rain sets in.

This afternoon the building inspector, Quentin, came to take a look at the drainage pipes the plumber has put in. He called for a level and said our levels were wrong. And he said some pipes should be vertical and not at 45 degree angle.

The plumber is coming on Friday to take a look and when he comes to fix  the problem, he will meet the building inspector (who he knows) to discuss the issues. Quentin gave us a lecture on drainage. Afterwards, we talked about what was needed for us to get our permanent occupation certificate. We have to put some changes through Council and once those changes are in, he will start the process. We learned that if you just ignore the Council requirements and don’t submit your paperwork for the OC, you’ll end up getting a massive fine. He’s very reasonable and gave us some good advice.

End of Wednesday & the penultimate day of August. One day closer to David getting better.

Psalm 145:18
The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
