Back to Working in Bed

There is rain in Cape Town and it’s just such bed weather that I have succumbed to the temptation of taking my laptop and working in bed, snug as a bug in a rug, with hot chocolate to boot.  It’s not too cold, just windy and rainy.

Today was the Argus Cycle day and despite the wind, around 35000 cyclists took to the roads and cycled 109km around the Peninsula, including through Fish Hoek…

As much as I love cycling (at the gym), I was glad to not be on the road with them.

We had breakfast with Julian and David and then I took Julian to the airport. Getting out of the valley was not difficult. Ou Kaapse Weg was open. Getting home was a bit more circuitous. I took the M5, wound my way through Plumstead, onto Spaansgemat River Parkway and eventually back over OKW. I stopped in Tokai for petrol.

The rest of the day was spent resting. I even had a snooze. Highlights included seeing South Africa put on a great performance in cricket against Sri Lanka AND seeing Justin Harding win the Qatar Golf Open. A good day for South African sport.

The lows of this day were:

  • Ethiopian plane crash.
  • The death of well-known Cape Town Dr. Monty Brink who died while riding the Argus today.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families. God knows their hurt and pain and He is the God of all comfort.

2 Corinthians 9:8

God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
