Flooding in the Back Garden

Oh wow, we woke up with it pouring with rain. It was not long before we began to see white mud streaming down the driveway. We went to investigate and found the bank behind our house had streams of water running down it. In a couple of places it was streaming in under our wall. A waterfall resulted…

You can see the tank is overflowing as well.

As the rain abated, Mike went out and swept it all away. The garden is now sparkling.  Flooding was seen all over Cape Town. This is by Froggy Pond, in Simon’s Town…

More rain was initially forecast for the early hours of tomorrow morning, but  I think that all arrived today.

At the moment AIX says it’s cloudy tomorrow. I am a bit disappointed that the Land Surveyor had to postpone surveying the plot – he’ll do that on Thursday.

It’s great to have the tanks overflowing and it gives us hope for a wonderfully wet winter. We are grateful.

For me the day began at 5am. I got straight to work as I did none yesterday. As a result it’s been a long working day – 9 hours and a bit more this evening. It was quite a good day for me, because I worked through until lunchtime and then took a break and went to gym. I started work again just after 2pm and worked through to 5-30pm. Mondays are always very busy. The week steadies until Thursday which is another busy day before the Middle East weekend begins on Friday.

A satisfying day.

Psalm 147:11

The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gym:

  • Treadmill 47:45 – today I decided to pace myself a whole lot more and not let my heart rate go too high, so I walked more and jogged in between. I also listened to the Bible while walking AND read some of Persuasion. Amazing what you can do on the treadmill.
  • The Grid – it was an abbreviated version – it was probably only about 15 minutes.
  • Weight machines – 27 minutes.

The moment my watch showed 90 minutes, I was out of there!

Braces:

Day 118.
