Monday
Today was the day…
I went back to work again in a more serious way. During the holidays, I checked email inboxes but that took very little time. This is what happened today:
- I worked about 6 hours.
- I did laundry and a bit of cleaning.
- I cleaned and changed the bird nectar bottle again. Thirsty birds!
- I enjoyed undecorating the Christmas tree – smiling as I remembered decorating it with Elsie saying, “Hang ‘nother one! Hang ‘nother one!”
Meanwhile, Courage came back to work as well. He climbed on the roof and finished doing something with the solar. He continued working on solar related things until this afternoon, when he put up a second ceiling fan in the top floor.
Mike did some admin and research and then, wanting some physical labour, dug a hole with a pick! It’s back-breaking work. He is trying to work out where the side boundary wall will go and how it will work. Courage of course, could have dug the hole, but Mike is insistent he wants the exercise! I have given up trying to persuade him otherwise.
Just before 4pm, we walked to the shops for milk and a couple of other things. When we do this it feels like we are on holiday.
Sitting on the balcony each day is mandatory.
Today, my friend Geralda’s husband had a heart attack, and was rushed to hospital but they couldn’t save him. Both Geralda and Jean were recovering from Covid. They had been pretty ill. Geralda couldn’t go into the emergency room with him. Her sister is now with her as they try to sort things out. Such a shock and so difficult in these times. Reminder again to cherish each day.
1 Corinthians 16:13
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
The best is yet to come.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
