Fun Past-time

Tuesday

Today was the day…

We had a lot of birds at the feeders. I don’t know if this is going to be a fun past-time or way too time consuming. I can spend a lot of time just watching in amazement at the variety of birds that have descended on the bottle. While this is not a great photo, I have an inkling that this is a juvenile male orange breasted sunbird – his feathers are beginning to change colour.

This one, I was really happy with…the full grown male orange-breasted sun bird – the males get all the lovely colours…that incredible green on its head, the purple collar and orange/red breast.

Cape male long-tailed sugar bird. They are bold and beautiful – they hang around the bottle and dominate it fearlessly.

If you are on Instagram I put up a series of photos of a family of sugar birds having a squabble over the bottle. I’m Helgavan1.

This healthy looking rock pigeon came to clean up some seed…

If I wanted birds, I certainly got them!

Apart from bird watching, I washed my bedroom windows (with Mike’s help) did 4.5 hours of work and Mike and I walked to the shops to buy a few groceries.

Courage has put up a mirror in the guest loo, put up 3 lots of blinds and 2 pictures. This afternoon he has been working in the cottage fixing the kitchen cupboard doors so they don’t knock you out when you open them.

Mike, meantime, has got quotes for fencing and bought 25kg cement and some sand to start foundations for a wall.  He also wondered today why he had such a sharp pain in his right shoulder – maybe it had something to do with yesterday’s digging exercise! It did go away after a short while.

It’s a beautiful day. I think another walk is in order.

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Have faith.

The best is yet to come.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
