Today was the day…
We drove through to Swellendam to visit with Stacey, Adrian and Elsie and then we went through to Montagu, where we are staying for two nights.
All the way from Somerset West to Swellendam there were snow covered mountains. Eventually, we stopped to take a photo…Mike taking a pic…
And what he was taking it of…miles of bright yellow canola against the backdrop of snow covered mountains. Quite a sight.
It was beyond wonderful to take Elsie in my arms and give her a big hug. She was a bit overwhelmed initially but very quickly warmed to me and we had a wonderful few hours. She is so adorable.
We then headed to Montagu and arrived at Avalon Springs where the warm water pool was our first stop.
The hotel is not open but the self catering units are, so we are tucked up in a very conveniently situated unit just steps from the pools. Tonight we have a dinner reservation booked in the town.
This is a few days of rest ahead of the hectic time ahead as Mike builds the kitchen and installs the solar. It was just so wonderful to get out of town and take a road trip. Around the resort you need to wear a mask, but inside the pool, happily you don’t!
