When Mike needs to make a purchase of an item, a huge amount of thought and investigation goes into it. As a result the outcome is almost always very good. Our excursion to Kenilworth Game this morning came after many, many hours of surfing the internet, reading reviews, phoning computer places and finally concluding he had found the answer to his need for a small size laptop that is only a kilo in weight and so portable that taking it overseas later in the year will be a breeze.
I have to admit, he is right. When we put it in my backpack – the one I usually use for travelling, it almost got lost. And it was so light! Quad core and solid state hard drive makes it really convenient and I am envious! Mine, the one I am using right now, is only about half a kilo heavier but bigger in size, has a bigger battery and that lasts longer. I don’t need a new laptop, so I’ll lug the extra half a kilo when we travel. I like my laptop and am not about to change it, especially as it is almost brand new. (Remember I got this one in October last year after the scoundrel hopped over our balcony on the first floor and entered our bedroom and stole mine off my desk in our study!)
Anyway, it was nice to get out, except that it was on an entirely empty stomach and we only had breakfast after the long anticipated purchase! As soon as grub was in my tummy, I felt a lot better. I took my book with me, because Mike doesn’t only do “pre” investigation but he also does at-the-time-of-purchase testing. I have learned that these things take time and there is absolutely no way of getting round it. A good job needs time and the end result is a happy husband and a very good purchase. He rubs his hands together with enthusiasm and continues to try to persuade me to sell this one and buy smaller!
For those who are curious, it is a Lenova 100S 11.6 and it cost an affordable R3500. Here it is sitting on top of mine…
That’s some free information for you. It will save you your own in-depth investigation!
#342 of my 1000 thanks is for this new purchase and that the late nights of comparison of options is over….for now!
That took most of the morning, but I managed to get some work in and I also did a load of washing, which in the warm winter sun is almost dry.
Psalm 107:1
Give thanks to the Lord, because He is good. His faithful love continues forever.
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
