A New Name

Sunday

Last night we were sitting having dinner – Mike, Julian and Me. For many months we have been beating around ideas for what we will call our new home – well the whole property really. There are going to be a few options for holiday rentals and we have to call it something. Julian came up with “20 on Echo”. It’s simple, clear and useful, as it literally spells out the address, so it will be easy to find. Mike and I agreed. With that decided, Julian contacted Gerrie who went to see its online availability. With the domain being available, he bought it. And now it looks like this:

Gerrie can design the website and can pick up lots of photos from here. When we are ready to rent, we’ll have the website up and running. 😁

Today has been very restful. We have not done much, although we did mooch around Echo this afternoon. We also went to see a show house up the road. It’s always interesting to see what other people are doing.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to dominate headlines. Now 51 people are infected in South Africa. I’m not sure we are getting the full picture from the country’s department of health as, through word of mouth, we’ve heard of a woman in KZN who contracted the disease from one of the travellers who returned from Italy. She herself, hadn’t travelled and this was a community infection yet what we read in the press is that the only people who have it are those who have travelled. It’s not the case in this instance. When that will break remains to be seen.

I saw this picture on the Sydney Morning Herald website. It shows what happens to the lungs when the virus moves down the respiratory system. If the infection stays localised in the nose and throat, the level of sickness will remain mild. If however, it heads down the trachea and affects the lungs, immediately the severity increases and the chances of survival drop.Nobody knows how long this world-wide medical crisis will take to resolve. But we trust the Lord and will take cover in the shadow of His wings till the disaster is passed.

Amen.

These are the days.
