12-26pm
Yesterday, I mentioned Mike & I were going to a wedding. David Beretta was marrying Kate Rosholt. With map in hand, we set off in the direction of Paarl…
We soon arrived at our destination and followed the road up to the farm…
We were in for a lovely country wedding…
The farm historic…the chapel looks like it could have been a dairy… whatever it was, it is OLD…
That sign says 1692…the chapel certainly feels like it is more than 300 years old…it’s beautiful and rustic…
If only these beams could speak.. what a story they would tell….
Lovely Karin, and her husband Jacques were two of the first to find a spot in the chapel…
The church musicians arrived…they had almost the best seat in the house… sitting at the front of the chapel with a full view of proceedings… here they are just before the service… David and Jesse… guitar and violin…
Soon the church filled and the parents of the groom arrived…
There was an air of excitement and anticipation…
And then suddenly… it was time…”here comes the bride…”
Kate looked spectacular. Beautiful dress, beautiful flowers, beautiful face. She wanted to be there, eagerly keen to be at the side of her groom! The service was really meaningful. And at 5-02pm, they became man and wife. “You can kiss the bride….”
“Okay, you can stop kissing the bride now!”
And then after a magnificently meaningful blessing, the husband & wife jubilantly left the church for the first time as Mr. & Mrs. David Beretta!
While, they went off to have official photos taken….
…the rest of the guests gathered on the lawns for a drink and some pre-dinner snacks…
It was a time to socialise…this is Mike discussing art with the bride’s Mom, Annabel…(isn’t her dress lovely?)
Mother of the groom, Riana, whose dress was equally spectacular…
A party of friends had their photo taken… that’s me back right…
We also had a chance to visit the reception venue for a sneak peak at the dinner setting while it was still light…
Each table had a floral display hanging above it. They were so well done…
There were so many flower arrangements, each one unique & fragrant…
The table settings were elegant…
After everyone had found their seats in the dining area, we stood to our feet to welcome the bridal couple…
The evening was a treat, with the dinner lavish and tasty. The main meal was followed by the speeches, which were entertaining and meaningful. Then there was dancing and cake and late night wedding cappuccinos…
It was almost time for Kate to leave…here she is with her twin sister and maid of honour, Anna…
And after walking through an arch of giant sparklers, David made an escape with his new wife….
It was altogether memorable. God bless David and Kate as they start their married life together.
Genesis 2:18
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” …
God bless you!
In His Grip,
