“You’ve Lived Life Well”

What a compliment!  Today, David came over for lunch and afterwards he was looking for a particular photo of himself from when he was about 5 or 6. This resulted in us taking out a whole box of photos and we started looking through them. They date back to before he was born, so there was a lot of life and a lot of people. “You’ve done it so well,” he said. I asked him what he meant. “You’ve lived life well!” I think he was mainly referring to the capturing of all the memories and loads and loads of family photos – camera films taken to the photo shop and printed out – all prior to digital cameras and social media. By God’s grace it has been. It’s also not been difficult with Stacey and David in it. It’s been a pleasure.

None-the-less, it was a sweet compliment. We need to categorize all the photos and order them so the future generations can figure out who was who in the zoo!

#489 of my 1000 thanks is for the thousand memories wrapped up in all those photos. They are treasures. It made me remember that the days don’t go by in decades. The days go by in hours so enjoy each one in order to have a happy life. ♡

Today has been a lovely one of those days. We went to the beach and watched Michael the sand sculptor start his creation… this is the beginning….

When we came back from our walk, this is how far he had got….

And later today, Fish Hoek Beach Facebook page had posted the final display. It was very windy, so he wasn’t able to entirely complete it…but it was so impressive.

Incredible talent.

Also on the beach this windy morning, the shark nets were being put out. It’s quite a performance I have to tell you. First the boat takes the next out…

Shark spotters pull the end through the water….

And secure it to the rock…

Then they go back to the beach and secure the other side. Then they have to get into the water and ensure the nets are all unrolled. Quite a daily rigmarole.

We sure live in a beautiful place.

I had a snooze this afternoon and then Mike and I went to church.

Psalm 119:89

Your word, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
