Working on Site

Saturday

Today Mike and I planned on working at the building site. On Monday the workers will be raising the retaining wall for the second level and before they do, Mike needed to put in the plug points as well as a connection for the stove. We had initially intended going at about 7am before it got too hot, but Mike had some preparation to do, so we ended up going at 9:30 am. It was a majestic, windless Fish Hoek day….a rare windless day…

Mike bending the conduit…(he’s so clever!)

And working on the plugs…

All done! Plugs and stove point both top and bottom.

We were completely finished. It was so hot up there. We drank 1.5 litres of sparkling water in 2 hours. I felt wan at the end of it. It didn’t help that we hadn’t had breakfast! We  went home at about 11:30 am and pretty much spent the rest of the day recovering . Stacey called for a nice long chat and I got to face time a bit with Elsie. She’s getting so big. Adrian and Stace don’t really want her featured on the world-wide web but with these photos her face is not seen, so let me show you how cute she is getting….she’ll be 20 months on 21st.

Such a big bucket….

And up the stairs she goes…good child of Africa – barefoot and all!

After the phone call we  went back to the site at 5:30 pm for Mike to do some angle grinding. I set about moving more stones from the steps. There are still tons of rocks on the site and eventually they will need to be moved. I spent a good hour and half moving stones and sand and I swept the top half of the steps. It was good manual labour and easily filled the role of gym.

We stopped at the shops on the way home. Mike bought and cooked steak for dinner which was eaten late – after 8.

Now I’m certainly ready for bed, having showered, eaten, flossed and brushed.

Good night!

Luke 10:20

Rejoice because your names are written in heaven.

That’s what it’s all about. We are heaven-bound.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
