Tuesday
Work continues both at the site and home in the office. This morning, I nipped down to the site and met Riana there to show her what’s happened so far. I took this photo from the top of the stairs. The back wall of level two going up…
They are making progress as this was yesterday evening…
Yesterday morning, Mike went to the site to try to fix one of the conduits that had got filled with cement. Nothing could be done except chisel through the concrete floor and chase a line to the light steel frame for a new one. Mike used his angle grinder and came back looking like he’d been down a mine-shaft- he was covered in dirt. In the evening, I went back with him…this was what he had done…it looks so simple 🙄 but took him a couple of hours.
Yesterday evening, there was more conduit bending…
And then we put it all together… and linked it up to the plug in the frame – the end result…
Mike’s a great boss to work for! We are really getting insight into how a house gets built. Today we paid for a whole lot more stuff so we’ll start seeing some interesting changes in the days ahead. It’s going up!
Apart from the outing to the site to which I added a quick grocery shop, I spent the day working. We have a school planning Cape Town interviews in a few weeks time, so we are feverishly preparing.
And that has been the events of this day. It’s been peaceful.
