WIN!

4-11pm

Yeah! Today is Kezia’s birthday! She came to work laden with cake and cupcakes…

Birthday girl was inundated with flowers…

I did a LOT of work this morning, then stopped by the printer on the way home and got home with a short time to spare before Rachel, aka Fungai arrived. She is the ideal person to look after Granny. She attends the FH Methodist church where Granny used to go and so has several references and was recently sponsored by someone at the church to do a carers and first aid course. So, first step is to have her come on Saturdays so Mike & I can have a break! She has a husband and child, so she won’t ever be able to live in, but if we move Granny back to the cottage,  she says she may be able to work night-duty. She loves the Lord and that is wonderful!

So, praise the Lord for that! God is faithful! WIN!

I read this, this morning:

Psalm 62:1-2 “My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”

There is a place that we can find, within the chaos of a busy life, a place of peace and a place of security. That place is in God alone. I think you have to visualise this: a mighty hurricane roaring in; wind speeds of 200km/hour – roofs blown off houses; power-lines down, cars overturned, landslides, torrential rain, flooding, general chaos. Yet there, amidst all the destruction of the storm, is a rock… massive, granite rock. It holds steady. It stands firm. No matter how strong the wind, no matter how heavy the rain, nothing moves that rock. We find refuge from our storms at a Rock, so we too are secure, untouched by trouble, protected, comforted, at peace. That is what Jesus came to do. He came to be the Rock in our lives; to give us a solid foundation and a fortress. He is the Creator. He gives us refuge from the storm. He wraps His mighty arms around us, protects us from the craziness of life, keeps us sane and amidst it all, He gives us PEACE! That’s my God – I will serve no other. It reminds me of the rock under which Mike & I took refuge when we got caught in the storm at Rooi Els…this was our view from the refuge of the rock.

I’m in His Grip, Yeah!

God bless you over-abundantly!

Helga xx 🙂
