Saturday
Today was the day…
Mike and I did another 8km walk in a howling South-easter! Why do we do this to ourselves? We don’t seem to learn. We knew the wind was blowing. Wind guru said it would be gusting up to 66km/hour and yet still we went! We walked to Harbour Bay. It took us an hour to get there and 45 minutes to get home. Going was a lesson in perseverance with some sand abrasion thrown in for good measure. Coming home, the wind was so strong that on two occasions we found ourselves jogging! I got a photo of the cormorants at rest. We are used to seeing them flying.
Simon’s Town on a windy day…
It was really good exercise, but we were glad to get home.
Today was also the day that Julian, Jess and Gerrie flew back to Johannesburg. I took them to the airport and then drove back to Claremont where my dentist came in to secure my loose implant crown. His wife has had Covid and so the whole family has been in quarantine – pretty quiet Christmas for them! Quarantine ended yesterday so he was able to see me today. View from outside his office is pretty good!
It’s great to have the tooth secure and no longer wobbling around in my mouth. It’s still the temporary crown, so I need to see him again to get the permanent one in place.
So day 2 of 2021 has passed. It’s been a good day!
2 Corinthians 5:7
We live by faith, not by sight.
The best is yet to come.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
