I was reminded last night, that when it appears that God has not heard our prayers, we need not worry. He is listening. He has heard them. He is faithful. You are not forgotten.
Mike & I had a wonderful dinner with friends and we all got to sharing significant moments in our lives.
One of our party, B, shared something that happened to her recently. Struggling with some difficult issues, as she went to bed, she prayed something like, “Lord, please, all I want is reassurance that it will all be all right in the end. I don’t mind what happens in between, I just want to know that it will all be all right in the end.”
No response. The silence of the night enveloped B. With tears in her eyes, she fell asleep.
God appeared to not have heard. He was silent.
The next day, B & her family went into town and decided to revisit their childhood neighbourhood. With so much of Cape Town having changed since they were children, they weren’t sure which off-ramp to take. “Take this one,” B urged and down that particular random road they went.
Shocked, surprised and in awe, right ahead of them was this sign…
God is not deaf. You may not think He has heard you, but He has. He has our best interest at heart.
1 John 3:1
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!
Then 1 John 3:19-20
19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in His presence: 20 if our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and He knows everything.
We can set our heart at rest in His presence.
That’s a wonderful gift.
Keep the smile going!
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
