I didn’t even know avocado oil existed. But after Mel’s advice, I dutifully went and bought some and then did some research as to its benefits. Similarly to Coconut Oil, I was hugely surprised as to what it can offer. This 250ml bottle cost R32. Like olive oil, avocado oil is high in all the good stuff, like omega 3, Vitamin E and fat that helps reduce cholesterol. Those who have done the research (look at www.3fatchicks.com for more) say avocado oil contains more of the nutrients than its olive counterpart. For cooking and baking, the suggestion is to go for, (unexpectedly) avo oil as it has a higher smoking point than olive oil. (Just be aware that when oil of any type begins to smoke, it creates free radicals which are damaging and cause disease). And now here’s the surprise: Avocado oil has a built in Sun Protection Factor of 15, better than olive oil and & coconut oil’s 8. So use it liberally on your skin for winter sun and beneath a higher SPF in summer sun. Also, if you, like me are now in the ‘wrinkle prevention’ age, it’s Vitamin E content will help moisturise and protect your skin. The monosaturated fats found in avocado oil form a protective layer over the skin. So that’s something else to put on your shopping list!
Yesterday, I took my hour’s walk across Fish Hoek to Clovelly, past Fish Hoek’s runway! No airport, but a runway…
An interesting variety of aircraft use this runway…
If you feel your prayers are falling on deaf ears, they’re not!
Psalm 66:20
“Praise be to God who has not rejected my prayer or withheld His love from me.”
God loves you and He is listening.
He will bless you!
In His Grip,

Gratitude Pic…after a few conversations with others, I am beginning to realise that when I put my head on the pillow and fall fast asleep without any help from a pill, I am truly blessed. Today is my day of rest. I slept in, slept a bit longer, and had a midday nap…it was good…
