Today was the day…
The weather changed and changed again. We woke up to rain and a cloud came over leaving everything damp and gloomy outside.
As the rain fell, it no longer came from the north but the wind turned and we started getting rain from the south-east (black south-easter). This is always good for our windows, which got a free wash. I sprayed them down with Windolene and then let the rain do most of the work. As the rain stopped, the sun came out but the wind picked up to a very strong south-easter & that has been pumping all day.
And it’s not expected to stop tomorrow either…
Wednesday and Friday won’t be too bad. It looks like rain on Thursday.
Today a funny thing happened. David has hardly sent any photos. He’s been really slow in showing us what he’s been up to. I had a whatsapp exchange with him today. It went like something like this:
David: “Mom, I can’t pay my tax because I can’t get a one time pin here. Please can you pay it and I’ll transfer money?”
Mom: “Sure, that’s no problem. Send me the details.”
David: “Thanks so much.” (Details come through)
Mom: Goes into banking, does the transfer, prints the proof of payment – sends it to David via Whatsapp.
David: Sends 19 photos!
He’s in Thailand til next Monday and then he’s off to South Korea for three weeks mainly cycling.
This is the top of the volcano he climbed.
Talking of travels, today I paid for the cruise.
And the final thing about 29th August – Gerrie’s birthday! Happy birthday Gerrie!
