What’s in the fridge…and what’s in my handbag…

4-56pm

The end of the weekend is here! Today has been been quiet and friendly! Mike made me coffee and then we went to church. Before leaving, I delivered tea and toast to Granny, who, believe it or not, was still asleep (nearly 9am!).  Today Pastor John Thomas preached what I believe to be the best sermon I’ve ever heard him preach! It was on 1 Corinthians 1 and included background, teaching, application and wonderful encouragement. Great stuff! We came home to whip up some lunch. I’ve spent the afternoon listening to music, getting a headstart on the week.  It’s been profitable.

I hadn’t taken any pics, so thought I’d show you what’s in my fridge AND take a photo of my open handbag! 😉  Pretty regular, I do believe…

In my handbag, you’ll see a CD, a couple of pamphlets, my pocket Bible, purse and pocket diary…

I actually need to clear it out, because what you can’t see is the inside pocket which is bulging with receipts.  I guess this is pretty much like us. We can reveal all the good stuff about us and hide all the unseen, neglected, not so good stuff that clutters up our lives and needs to be cleaned out. Stuff like anger and bitterness, resentment, impatience and unforgiveness…it’s all got to go to make way for the things everyone wants, like PEACE & HAPPINESS!

Jesus didn’t mince His words as Luke records in chapter 11:39 – ‘Then the Lord said to him, “You Pharisees are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy–full of greed and wickedness!’

It’s only God that can give  you a clean heart!

God bless you and have a WONDERFUL week!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
