Saturday
Today has to go down as a major highlight of the year! South African went into the finals of the Rugby World Cup against England completely as the underdogs. I was psychologically prepared for disappointment. We would come second. It would be a great effort. England would get their justice after losing to us in 2007. I was ready for defeat.
I was NOT ready for this!
We dominated! This was what shot up on the TV screen with 2 minutes to go….
What’s amazing is the captain, Siya Kolisi’s journey. This was him as a teenager, eagerly getting Schalk Burger’s autograph at a training camp on an unknown date…
This was him today with SA president…
What a victory!
Another amazing stat is this:
Makazole Mapimpi is the first Spingbok player in the history of Springboks to score a try in a Rugby World Cup final.
The previous Bok World Cup wins were without tries.
Most touching is the public declaration the Kolisi family make about their faith in Christ.
Really an exciting day!
Ephesians 1:4-5
For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will.
Powerful words.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
