Wednesday
Today was the day…
The Cape of Storms came to life with high winds and battering rain roaring across the city. By last night there had been 50mm of rain. Today, the weather office issued a storm warning advisory…
Mike and I walked down to Fish Hoek late this afternoon, between squalls, to buy some milk. From the Sunny Cove bridge the threatening clouds were visible…
We got to the shops before the rain started, but it was spitting when we walked out and the drops soon became a driving shower. With the wind at our backs, we blew home. Our front door is in the direct path of the north-wester and today it has been potentially hazardous going in and out. The wind whips the door and you have to hang onto it. The glass of the door got shattered last year during strong winds when the house was being built. It can so easily happen again.
Part of the ongoing landscaping will be to put up a protective porch outside the front entrance. I’m sure that will be complete by next winter. As I sit here, it’s blowing gales outside. It’s good to be inside.
Last day of June 2021.
Psalm 31:3
For You are my rock and my fortress; and for You name’s sake You lead me and guide me.
The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
