We Have Today

Saturday

Dear Elsie

It was great to speak to you today. You got to see the cats wrestling and you really enjoyed that. You also showed me around your house and all the building and renovation work that is being done. It’s so exciting that it will be finished this month. We are so happy you will also get your great grandmother’s table and 4 chairs. We have all enjoyed many good memories and, from Granny Eve, large tasty macaroni cheese, around this table. Soon it will be in your dining room & we could not be happier. I can see you doing your homework at this table as well.

Today I listened to the start of Ecclesiastes which is the ‘meaningless meaningless’ book of the Bible. With the reiteration that none of us will be remembered by past generations and those generations to come won’t be remembered by those after them, the thought came to mind, we have today.

As each day dawns we pray for David and hope he will soon be better. The anticoagulant therapy he is on has got rid of the microclots in his plasma but has not yet worked for the clots in the platelets. I’ve just read an article saying the short long Covid patients (Long Covid for less than 6 months which is possibly David) had to have treatment for 4 months. David will be at that point on 16th September.  Otherwise, we will wait for as long as it takes. We need to be patient – very patient.

But we have today and today is a good day. David is busy ordering dinner. And tonight is tennis! Alcatraz is playing Dan Evans and so we’ll watch some of that at least. Because there’s quite a lot of sport on this month, we got a month of DSTV.

It’s been a bit of a rainy day, but when there is rain there are also rainbows which we see a lot of in these parts.

A good Saturday.

Psalm 145:21
My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord. Let every creature praise His holy name for ever and ever.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
