Waiting and Praying and Hoping and Trusting

Thursday

Dear Elsie

Today was the day there was more rain. I cannot remember a year where we have had so many cold fronts come crashing into the Cape as early in the winter as this. For the last few weeks we have been battered by strong winds and rain. It’s been great for the dam levels and for our tanks, but it does make me think of poor England. It rains nearly 149 days of the year in the UK. In South Africa it’s less than half that.  It seems now we are waiting for the rain to go away.

We are also just waiting for David to get better. He had some signs of being worse which was a good thing, but there has been no swift turn-around. No 2-3 bad days followed by an improvement in strength and energy. He has been really tired. We have to be patient but it’s not easy – just wondering if the medication is working or if he does have some physical conflict with it not doing what it’s supposed to do. All so stressful. When David starts getting better, I will be happier. Until then, we just keep waiting and praying and hoping and trusting. Nothing more can be done. Patience.

Today I worked for close to 8 hours. I’ve still got quite a lot of work to do but on a Thursday our system gets maintenance done so I had to get off at 5pm. Forced work stoppage. So now it’s time for the evening routine to kick in. I’ll wrap this up and then knit until David comes up for dinner.

Let’s see what else I can find in Psalm 119 that will be an encouragement to us all.

Psalm 119:57

You are my portion, Lord; I have promised to obey your words.

We just keep going.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
