View From The Side of a Mountain

3-10pm

I’ve done quite a lot of work today! I’ve been writing about some of Cape Town’s finest assets and it has reminded me of what a wonderful and diverse city this is. The other day, I took a walk from Fish Hoek along the “cat walk”, across to Sunny Cove and onto Echo Rd. The views were spectacular….I sat on the side of the mountain and admired the early morning…

Another part of the viewIt was a great place to sit and think and pray and write. I walked to the end of of Echo Rd and back again…

Walking down Echo RdWow, we live in a lovely city. It always has a different face and feel. You can get all 4 seasons in one day and we’ve absolutely had that today. Starting off with a little breeze and sunshine, it’s progressed to windy and cloudy with rain beginning to fall. The vine is being battered about a bit!

While researching for my latest job, I discovered that 3 years ago when Table Mountain was voted one of the 7 New Wonders of Nature, there were 100 million votes! It nearly didn’t make it. With one week to go, we weren’t in the top 10. Then there was a flurry of voting in the final days and we snuck in as one of the 7…for good reason!

Today is 14-11-14. I picked this up from “Birthverse of the Day”…

November 14

He will bring you a message through which you and all your household will be saved.’

Acts 11:14 NIV

A comforting verse.

And so life continues. For the first time this week, in the 5 and a half months since I left CCFm, I have felt a sense of ‘restlessness.’ I felt as if I needed more occupation. I felt as if I have too much free time on my hands. But not to worry, the feeling soon passed and I lay down on my bed and read my book and enjoyed the idea that this is a season and that in God’s time, I’ll be doing something more. I’ve got some ideas….just looking to see what doors open for them. It’s fun freelancing, but you have to be disciplined.

Tomorrow’s blog is on Banting Ice Cream!  Ha ha! Not ideal for the weather, but when this cold front has passed, the sun is sure to shine again.

Keep the smile going!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
