Two New Things

Today I’m posting an early blog because the two new things that have entered my life did so this morning!

The first was the “Grueling Grid”.  I call it grueling although the gym just calls it The Grid.  It is easy for me to go to gym and do the same old same old. In order for me to not become stale or bored, I need to get out of my comfort zone and do something different. It’s easy to exercise alone. It’s difficult for me to join a class. Today, in a rash moment of madness, I signed up for The Grid.

It’s hectic. Each exercise is for 45 seconds (I think).  It goes like this:

There are 6 different exercises.

  1. Exercise 1.
  2. 15 second break.
  3. Exercise 1  & Exercise 2
  4. 15 second break
  5. Exercise 1 , Exercise 2 & Exercise 3
  6. 30 second break
  7. Exercise 1, Exercise 2, Exercise 3 & Exercise 4
  8. 15 second break
  9. Exercise 1, Exercise 2, Exercise 3, Exercise 4, Exercise 5
  10. 15 second break
  11. Exercise 1, Exercise 2, Exercise 3, Exercise 4, Exercise 5, Exercise 6
  12. 60 second break

By now I was exhausted, but no stopping yet. There’s more! You do it all again the other way

  1. Exercise 6
  2. 15 second break
  3. Exercise 6 & Exercise 5
  4. 15 second break
  5.  Exercise, 6, Exercise 5 & Exercise 4
  6. 30 second break
  7. Exercise 6, Exercise 5, Exercise 4 & Exercise 3
  8. 15 second break
  9. Exercise 6, Exercise 5, Exercise 4, Exercise 3 & Exercise 2
  10. 15 second break
  11. And finally
  12. Exercise 6, Exercise 5, Exercise 4, Exercise 3,  Exercise 2 & Exercise 1.

I was sooooo tired!

I must have done more than 100 squats and when I went to leave the gym, I literally was hobbling down the stairs! I am not sure if I will be able to walk tomorrow morning, let alone get to the gym for a jog! So grateful to be able to exercise.

So that was the first new thing. The second new thing is this:

As we get older, collagen levels drop. This stuff helps a multitude of issues. Take 2 tablespoons a day. Today, I got it (Black Friday special 2 for the price of one). It is not cheap. This size is usually R800, but with the Black Friday special, I got two for the price of one. It looks like milk powder. It is tasteless and easily dissolves. I put two teaspoons in a little milk to start with. It tasted fine. When I had coffee, I added two teaspoons to that and it also was tasteless. Very easy to consume.  This is what collagen does (credit to the website of Sally-Ann Creed)

  • Stronger, thicker hair and nails
  • Healthy joints – also rebuilds cartilage
  • Clear skin
  • Prevents wrinkles and smooths out some
  • May rebuild entire organs
  • Improves arthritis (rather dramatically!)
  • Strengthens arteries
  • Increases muscle mass
  • Promotes weight loss through fat-burning
  • Helps the body form new collagen of its own
  • Amazing for gut health – restores digestive balance
  • Wonderful for a good sleep if taken before bed
  • Helps prevent and treat osteoporosis
  • Some people claim it resolves hypertension
  • Improves bladder weakness
  • Improves chronic fatigue (definitely improves energy levels)
  • Helps with autoimmune diseases

#492 of my 1000 thanks is for this collagen – I’m looking forward to it helping my joints!

Psalm 119:152

Long ago I learned from your statutes that you established them to last forever.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
