Truffles at the Vet

No, she wasn’t sick. A few months ago she was due to get her annual shots – it was then that she got mauled and she had her tongue operated on. She has now fully recovered and yesterday I literally diarised and then made all the appointments that I’ve been needing to make. The vet was one of them and Dr. Jean could see her today. While we were in the waiting room, I took Truffles out of her carrier and put her on my lap. She settled down very quietly and put her head on her paws.

She was very calm, quietly contemplating her fate. The last time she was here, she had a tough time and came out feeling very miserable. No doubt she remembered the smell and was concerned about the outcome.

Dr Jean examined her tongue and was thrilled with her progress. She had her shots, got dewormed and de-flea’d and we were on our way home in no time. I was very grateful. There have been many times I’ve driven to or from the vet with uncertainty about Truffles health, but today I was sure she was fine. She has gained 200g and is now more than 3kg. I’m happy with that!

For the rest of the day, we did laundry, I cleaned the piano room and I worked for 7.5 hours.

There was good news today – one of my applicants was successful in their interview and plans to accept the job. That makes 4 teachers I’ve placed this month. I’m happy with that. I had two more teachers interview with schools today and I’ve got one interviewing tomorrow.

The other good news is that we heard back from the surveyor general in an official report that the narrow tract of land along side the Echo house is private and may be used by mutual consent by each of the abutting neighbours. This means that we can use it for steps and hopefully, in the future, a funicular that will go from the road to the top plot and be financed by the three property owners and not just us. Isn’t that just fine!? #Grateful.

The road behind us is coming along. the workers are busy preparing the sidewalk for tar. We will walk this side-walk often so are looking forward to its completion.

It wasn’t long ago the road looked like this…(August 2018)

And in October it was like this…

And December 2018, it looked like this…

More and more I’m learning, big projects take time. You just need to plod along. It will get done eventually.

Proverbs 30:5

Every word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
