Clearly the need for information about the Low Carb, High Fat way of life is spreading. Loads of people have gone online and starting searching for more information about it. We have worked hard and quickly to get yesterday’s interview with Tim Noakes up and onto the CCFm Rise and Shine Facebook Page. For those of you not on FB, here it is…
Professor Tim Noakes on the Paleo Diet 2
I have to admit that I have not had a ‘sugar craving’. Today is 4 weeks since I last had sugar. My only sugar is in the berries I have for breakfast. I am feeling really good and grateful…in fact, my entire well-being has improved. I’m beginning to say things like, ‘cutting out sugar was the best dietary thing I’ve ever done.’ There are LOADs of things that you can eat that don’t include the vast quantities of sugar we pour through our bodies. I am seldom hungry and am full of energy. Mike, who doesn’t read my blog, doesn’t agree with the whole high fat component. I am keen to print out Mark Sisson’s blog on the subject, which you can access here:
http://www.marksdailyapple.com/high-fat-diet-healthy-safe/
So this has given all of us lots to think about. Take your time. Find out what high fat foods work for you and experiment a bit according to how you feel and how your stomach copes. Cut out carbs, ditch sugar, bring on the butter. Enjoy ‘the fat of the land!’
Back to my ‘normal’ life! A wonderful evening at the Baxter last night where David had his final Chamber Music concert. The next time he performs at the Baxter, it won’t be as a student…
You can see, we were sitting wayyy at the back. You are not permitted to take photos! :-O David bowing out of ‘studenthood!’ They played brilliantly!
Granny is up to her tricks again! When we got in from the Baxter, she was sitting in the lounge in complete darkness. We put her back to bed. Then this morning, when I woke up, I found her lying on the lounge floor! Oh dear! She had woken up, found her way through to the lounge (in complete darkness with no walker or walking stick) and had tried to sit down, I think, and missed! She had taken a cushion from the couch and put it under her head. The funniest thing was that as I had come downstairs and found her, I had turned the light on and as I walked over a mat on the floor, the corner of the mat flipped up and was bent over. I went behind Granny to pick her up, but she stopped me, so she could first fix the mat! 🙂 Funny Granny! She was too heavy for me, so I had to wake Mike. She could hardly stand, so Mike got the wheelchair and we put her back to bed! How is she now? Right as rain! I just made her tea and said very clearly to her, “You must not get out of bed at night,” to which she replied, “I don’t!” 🙂 She is so so sweet. I am privileged to have her & as far as it depends on me, I want to see her ‘finish the race’ right here at home.
I thought I must just add these photos…Jason having some fun with my new cell phone camera in the studio…
And here he is..his self portrait!
At the mall, look what I found…Christmas shop!!! Yeah! Christmas is coming!
Looking at my life, I think it is varied, and fun and healthy and abundant….Granny and all! 🙂
John 10:10 (Jesus speaking) “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
Yep! Jesus makes the difference to my life! Without Him in it, it would be pretty dismal.
In His Grip,
Love Helga x 🙂
