Mike & I were away for the last weekend January. On the Saturday evening we got in from dinner and I logged onto FB and started seeing an alarming number of messages for my friend Debbie. We have known each other since we were 6 and caught up when she came to Cape Town in December. To my horror (some of you will remember me writing about the incident), she had a random horse riding accident that landed her in critical condition in hospital. I blogged about it on 31st January. As the doctors were uncertain as to her survival, her family flew in from far and wide to be at her side. She had a severe head injury. I prayed a lot for her and over the months, from a distance, by God’s grace, with lots of patience, brilliant Debs has slowly recovered. This is her first time back on a horse since the accident…
….and just a couple of days ago, I spotted this FB status…
Back in December, she cut back the daisy bush….
It looked pretty hopeless, but look at it now!!!
Debs has gone from broken to beginning to blossom …believe it or not, this photo was taken a month ago, just three months after the accident. Debbie with her amazing friend Beryl.
I have sat in Cape Town, watching the story unfold in KZN. I’m so grateful that Debs is so much better. I think her eyesight may still be a bit ‘iffy’ but she has made great progress. I give God the glory!
Isaiah 43:18-19 for Debs “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
God bless you! I love you Debs. 🙂
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
