A Lesson In Forgiveness…

2-08pm

At some stage in our lives, we have had to say sorry to someone and ask them to forgive us. Maybe we have behaved badly and our actions have not lived up to our own expectations. Regularly, an apology is required. I know that is true of my own life. One thing I know for sure, is that there is power in the words, ‘Please forgive me’ and ‘I forgive you.’ I think the devil flees when he hears those words.  I know sin weighs me down. Forgiveness is the tool God uses to blast guilt into smithereens & throw heavy burdens of sin into the sea, leaving the happy recipient with a sense of freedom and lightness of being.

Today as I listened to brilliant Andy Stanley talking about Paul’s experience on the road to Damascus in Acts 26. Paul is relating his experience to King Agrippa explaining that Jesus told him that he was to be sent SO THAT….and then comes the key to unlocking peace with God, the defining factor between Christianity (ie Knowing Jesus) and every other religion in the world

SO THAT…vs 18

‘…they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’

We can’t do it. We need Jesus to intervene. He did, when He died on the cross.

Andy Stanley is a brilliant orator. He has the ability to push aside any jargon and explain the Word of God in simple, fresh terms. Today he did just that in the first part of the series Losing Your Religion.

I am forgiven, therefore I forgive. Thank you Jesus for your forgiveness and for those who have forgiven me. It is by God’s grace.

It’s been a good day!  Tomorrow, I have a very full day. I will be leaving home at 7-30am and only be home around 5pm, so expect a late blog, unless I have some time midway to get it done. This is one of the things I’m doing…I’ll be speaking about how God can make something beautiful out of a broken heart…it’s a tender love story, that you won’t forget in a hurry!

Flyer for tomorrow

God bless you loads!

In His Grip,
