The mind is powerful. This is an undisputed fact. While I believe in the power of positive thinking, I only believe this based, not on it coming from within ourselves, but rather it being based on the Word of God.
Dwelling on God’s promises results in powerful thought processes.
Learning the words of the Bible – committing it to memory, saturating yourself in its pages, living it day by day – will result in the Word of God becoming your foundation, your life’s referral system – it will influence your thoughts, which will influence your actions which will influence your life.
I saw a TED talk the other day with South African Caroline Leaf. In this video she explains how the mind can influence the brain. It’s a scientific fact…take a listen…
The mind is separate from the brain, but influences the brain. You choose what to think.
Here are 10 things to think…there are 1000s more, but 10 is good to start with….
1. “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13
2. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. Jeremiah 29:11
3. “I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips”. Psalm 34:1
4. “For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty Savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Zephaniah 3:17
5. “I say to the LORD, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” Psalm 16:2
6. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”. Philippians 4:6-7
7. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2
8. “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or discouraged for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
9. “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8
10. “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord”. Romans 8:38-39.
I choose to dwell on that which God wants me to dwell. I refuse to embrace toxic thoughts.
It all starts with what’s going on in your mind and the choice is yours.
Amazing!
Keep the smile going – when you sit alone and smile, it’s like a little party in your head.
God Bless you!
