Then There Were Two

This morning Julian, Jess and Gerrie all left, leaving the house extremely quiet. This evening, we had to make a decision about what to have for dinner! It is strange that even with just the two of us the  number of dishes mount.

I cleaned the cottage in readiness for our new tenant, Stuart, tomorrow or a little later this week. We are looking forward to having him.

This afternoon, I headed for the gym and ran 5km. If it wasn’t my personal best, it was very close.

I then went and did the circuit weights before heading downstairs for a swim. I swam 20 lengths. The first 6 were crawl without stopping. Then I did 2 breast stroke. The rest were crawl, resting in between, except for the final 4 which I did without stopping. I experimented a bit with breathing, trying to breath every 4 strokes, which was fine when I was fresh but became impossible when I was tired. I also tried alternating sides and breathing every three strokes, but it was very foreign to me. I settled on every second stroke when I was tired.

#529 of my 1000 thanks is for OXYGEN! Building my lung capacity made me realise how grateful I am for the air I breath.

Gym is such an interesting place. The cruise was a false sense of reality and in many ways the gym is as well. At gym there is:

  • No wind.
  • No hills if you don’t want them.
  • No need to carry cell phones, keys or water.
  • No flies or other flying insects.
  • No crime.
  • No huge waves in the pool.
  • No sharks.
  • No riptide.

At the gym, I feel safe and I get to go as often as I like!

Micah6:8

The Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humble with your God.

Good thing to strive for.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
