The Wind and the Warning

Friday

Dear Elsie

Today is Friday and I usually try to work only in the morning and take some time off in the afternoon, but this week has been super busy so I worked 8 hours. I still finished slightly early as, because of the wind, there was no swimming this morning, so I started work earlier than usual.

Being chained to my desk for the day means my entertainment comes from what goes down in the neighbourhood. This message popped up on my whatsapp. It will be a wild few days and from late tomorrow evening it will be best to batten down the hatches and lay low.

These black south-easter storms can be particularly brutal. We most likely will have some water coming in, but it will be temporary. We will hunker down for sure.

The other message that went out was this one from a neighbour. My response is in green.

Turns out I was right. A short while later the neighbour said a tourist staying further up the road came looking for it.

And the only other entertainment is from the Raiku department. I was rubbing his chin when he went to give me a gentle bite – in doing so he tasted my skin and liked what he licked, so off he went giving my hand a proper cleaning.

It was tricky taking the photo with my left hand. Poor Raiku, still missing Claw’d. Me too. Everyday. I think the thing Raiku misses the most is Clawd’s affection. Claw’d made it his job to be in charge of feline hygiene and Raiku was the happy recipient. So, to make up for it, several times a day I stroke him, brush him and spend time giving him scratches behind the ears and rubs under his chin and cheeks.

Yay for the weekend!

Psalm 77:14
You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
