Thursday
Today was the day…
We celebrated Heritage Day in South Africa. Not that we took the day off. Courage and Ruth arrived. Mike and Courage went to Echo while Ruth stayed here and did a deep clean of the kitchen. What a difference.
I was summoned to Echo mid-morning to discuss the stair well. After much discussion, a call to Julian and more talking, solutions were found and everyone is now happy. The flaws of the floors will be sorted.
The landing will be tiled. This is the before…
I think we will be very happy with the end result which won’t look a bit like the photo above. We won’t be spending too much time looking at the stairwell. That’s not why we are here. This is why we are here…
The compromise is the 80 steps it takes to get to our front door. Come rain or shine, the 80 steps have to be climbed! One day, God willing, we will get a funicular to carry us up but in the meantime, we need to stay fit.
I came home to do some more work. Mike came home for breakfast and to cut wood and has gone back to Echo. He will bring Courage back and will call it a day early.

1 Thessalonians 5:8
Since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.
Faith, love and hope.
The best is yet to come.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
