Wednesday 1st September 2021
This was the day….
The new car arrived! There are so few days like this and as we get older, they will get rarer. It’s a Suzuki Ignis and, besides the colour which I love, it is really a fun car to drive.
We took it for a spin to pick up some shopping but tomorrow hope to take it further.
Work demanded more of my time today and while August was a profitable month, it is nice when work is slightly quieter. Today wasn’t one of those days, although I only worked just over 6 hours.
I think September 1 is the day we celebrate the start of spring. It blew into Cape Town! The south-easter is roaring across the city. I took one look at the surging sea and endless white foam of the breaking waves down at the beach and decided to spare myself a turn in washing machine kind of conditions. But doing no exercise has left me a bit discombobulated. Tomorrow I can’t go because I have an early physio appointment, so hopefully Friday will be the day! We did walk to the end of the road and saw that one of the home owners, Gill, was in the house she is renovating, so we went in to say hello and she kindly showed us around. Mike hadn’t been in it before. It’s so exciting seeing someone else getting close to moving in and seeing all their finishes.
Time to end. This evening we are taking a leaf out of Julian’s book and going to watch Downtown Abby again.
A good night!
James 5:16
The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
