It’s been a good day. I’ve done about 4 and a half hours of work and had a good gym workout. Breakfast was had, shopping was done and supper was cooked.
Mike and I had settled down to watch some TV, when the phone rang. I answered it and it was Dawn from diagonally opposite us. “Helga!” she said, “Do you know someone was trying to climb over your back wall!” “WHAT!!?”
She explained that about half an hour before, her daughter had seen a man close to the road works digging for the cables that had been laid. A number of the neighbours came out and Neighbourhood Watch was called. The road works managers also came. Not being able to hold the fellow he skulked away. He left and walked up towards the main traffic lights and disappeared. The neighbourhood watch decided to follow him. They walked up to where they thought he went only to find that he had walked behind the row of houses and was seen trying to get over our back wall. Our security company (YMA) had spotted him and stopped him. The road works manager said they wanted to lay a charge against him. The police were called and took him away.
Whey would he want to get over our wall particularly if he didn’t know what was the other side? He must have been familiar with our property to want to get in. I imagine that he wasn’t planning on breaking in, but knew that there was a spot he could hide. He was found with a bag full of house breaking tools and what looked like stolen items.
Let us hope that he gets held so charges can be pressed against him tomorrow. I really hope so.
The other thing I did today was watch the memorial service for Dee Harris. What a wonderful tribute to a life well lived and lived well.
I have had no news today regarding Aunty Wyn. It’s 5am in Sydney so I have just dropped Rowena a line to ask.
#477 of my 1000 thanks is for the cool weather and lovely showers we have enjoyed today. God is faithful!
Live life to the full. I had a good reminder of this from Hebrews this morning…
Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
Run with perseverance!
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
