The Lighter The Better

Friday

Today has arrived. We are going to Egypt! 🌵🐪 I have to admit I woke with some trepidation but now I am excited! It’s going to be an adventure. As far as packing goes, the lighter the better. My suitcase weighs 9kg. It will be easy getting it in and out of tour coaches and no help will be needed moving it around.

The other essential for Egypt is a first aid kit. I’ve got my checklist

  • Genpayne
  • Disprin
  • Oral medication for allergies
  • Allergy cream
  • Something for nausea
  • Mike is out buying something for the runs
  • Plasters
  • Betadine
  • Savlon
  • Guaze etc etc.

We should have thought of getting water purifying tablets. That would have been a good standby to have.  We’ve heard don’t drink any tap water in Egypt. Don’t even brush your teeth with it. 😲 So bottled water all the way. Then, you also need to be careful of raw food such as salads. I’ll be thinking carefully about what to eat.

I’ve just printed this picture. I’m told we could be ripped off to take a picture while sitting on a camel – R500 to have the photo taken. I’ll be speaking to our tour guide about that. I’ll let you know what happens.

I need to wrap this up and head off to Echo to hand over the keys to Kezia who will be staying there while David is away. I’ve phoned the security companies to change the contact numbers, so that’s another job done.

Stuart will have the i10. He’s taking us to the airport so will have access to our house. Dawn our neighbour will have spare keys as well. All sorted.

Psalm 118:24

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.

I’m not sure when or how the next blog will get posted, but it will eventually arrive!

These are the days.

God bless you.

In His Grip,
