Last night my conversation with Mike went something like this:
Me: “I’m alone in the studio again tomorrow because PJ is in Lesotho.” Mike: “You’re never alone in the studio. The Lord is with you.” Me: “Yes, I know I’m not alone and that God is with me, but He doesn’t exactly chip in and read the newspaper and all the messages that come in! He doesn’t have a voice that speaks into the microphone.” Mike: “Well you must pray for a ‘voice.’ Helga: “I must.”
So I did. What happened this morning was nothing less than absolutely extraordinary! At just after 7am, I saw a lady in our reception area and wondered who she was. Xolani (night presenter) came into the studio and asked if he could bring her in. I asked ‘who is she?’ I thought perhaps she was a work shadow. She came inside and said ‘where is everybody else?’ She had arrived a week early for our Rise and Shine open day!!! I said “It’s not today! It’s next Thursday, but don’t go immediately, hang around,” and then to test how she felt about the microphone, I added “I can put you onair if you like?” She replied, “I don’t mind, I enjoy talking!” So Wendy joined me on air for the hour and that was how God provided His choice of a voice for today!
Wendy left at just before 8am, so I didn’t get a photo of her – you’ll have to wait for next Thursday when she comes for the Rise and Shine Open Day and I’ll be sure to get a photo of God’s answer to prayer!
Don’t ever stop praying. Don’t ever stop believing.
1 John 5:14-15 says “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of Him.”
Remain Steadfast, Keep the Faith.
Today was Tie Day for the guys. They all wore ties. Jonathan (programme manager) came in with two, a formal one and one with Winnie the Poohs all over it! So cute!
Behind the scenes, the Granny Lynette is smiling…beautiful baby girl, Alex is just over 24 hours old.,,,
This afternoon, the first storm of the season is fast approaching…100% chance of rain tonight – 50mm expected in places. It’s a first glance at winter…
Actually, since taking the above photo a few minutes ago, it’s looking a lot more ominous…
Soup is made. Show prep is done. Granny’s got her tea. Blog is now done. So, how about me now climbing into bed and reading a book?
God bless you and if you are in Cape Town, stay warm and dry!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
