The End Of Celebrating A New Beginning

12-38pm

Today marked the end of celebrating a new beginning! I turned 50 on 5th November – it was the beginning of a new decade. This morning, I had my final 50th birthday celebration. Our Friday girls went to the Vineyard for breakfast to celebrate my 50th as well as Monique’s which is a week tomorrow….

Ingrid Riana MoniqueTowards the end, Murray (Ingrid’s husband) appeared and mentioned that in life, turning 50 is a big turning point – instead of success, you seek significance. Life begins at 50!

Friendship is so important to me. I remember for some years, when I just didn’t have time to make friends and spend time with them. When I joined this group, my life really went from feeling lonely to feeling rich with friendships. The saying goes, ‘if you want a good friend, be a good friend.’  I’ve slowly got to know these ladies by spending time with them, enjoying their company, laughing at their quirks (and being laughed at in my turn!) and appreciating our differences and our strengths. We all need each other. It would be down right boring if we were all the same. Each of us come with amazing talents and personality traits that are to be enjoyed. There are many things that each of them do, that I can’t do. Every one of them is a strong woman. Every one of them, I admire. In every one of them, I see resilience, humour, integrity, compassion, humility, mercy, grace, acceptance, forgiveness and love. All have struggled with difficult circumstances. We all do. This is life. We all have the uphill battles we are fighting. We often are not all struggling at the same time. We are able to listen to one another, pray for each other, advise each other and encourage one another. It’s not just a social gathering – this is a vital cohesive unit that makes us accountable, feeding us emotionally and spiritually. Every woman should have one!

If you want a good friend, be a good friend.

Hebrews 13:1

Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.

Have a fabulous weekend.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!
