The Electrician has gone AWOL!

Friday

Today was the day…

I worked through my to-do list…

  • Bible reading
  • Work
  • Laundry
  • Bird feeder refill
  • Then to Fish Hoek for coffee with friends.

By mid afternoon, I’d wrapped up work for the week.

Rain is coming. We should have a bit overnight and throughout the weekend. We went down to Echo this evening and I exchanged a few messages with Werner. He said the electrician had gone AWOL. I told him the electrician was busy working on the kitchen design and finalising the cutting list. He asked me to tell the electrician he didn’t have power on the top floor. As we were at Echo, I told the electrician and he flipped a switch so Werner will have power on the top floor when he comes in tomorrow. Mike has not needed to work at Echo this week as he has just about completed the electrics. He’s a star!

We are meeting Werner on site tomorrow morning to discuss a number of things. For my own benefit – we need to talk about:

  • Tap on our balcony
  • Ceiling trapdoor on top floor
  • Architraves
  • Finalize tiles

I think once that’s done, Mike and I will go to the tile stores and order the tiles, so tomorrow we need to measure up for that.

Werner has been working long hours and has done an exceptional job. We are very happy. We hope to have built our house on the mountainside, with really bad access for R10400 a square metre. As we near the end, we hope we will come in at or under that.

I’m excited about moving, but I am going to miss the easy access of the home we have enjoyed for the last 31 years. We are scaling down as even though our new house has 4 storeys, our apartment is two bedrooms. We will fit perfectly.

We have been very comfortable here.

Proverbs 19:20

Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter days.

Wisdom is accumulative.

The best is yet to come.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,
