5-39pm
A late blog. It’s been a busy day. But now I am home and have got a ‘to-do’ list of just three things, excluding this blog!
One of the things I did today was go along with Riana and Mel to visit Toni. Toni has been fighting liver cancer for the last year and life has become tough and her future uncertain. It’s hard to know how to respond when someone else is walking a journey you have never had to walk. I don’t know what the future holds for Toni, but I do know that God is in that future and that there are no surprises with Him. We talked together, we laughed together and we prayed together. And I gave her a box of ‘Bible Smarties!’ They are in this box…
There are dozens of wonderfully reassuring Bible verses…here are the instructions…
I printed them out and cut them into individual verses, so Toni can read them when she needs encouragement…
I think they would be great to memorise!
Regardless of our circumstances, the Bible offers encouragement that will allow us to live a peace-filled, joyful life. It’s worth tapping into the power of the Word of God. But it was sobering visiting Toni. Life is fragile. We all will die sometime. We need to embrace every moment of every day. I found myself coming home and just appreciating Mike a little more, grateful for our health and strength and happiness.
Psalm 145:19 “He fulfills the desire of all who fear Him. He also hears their cry and saves them.”
So there’s a new Pope. Pope Francis. I’m not Catholic but I enjoyed watching proceedings last night…
I pray that the Lord will be glorified in him and in the Catholic Church.
Well that’s the blog done and pretty quickly too. Tomorrow is Friday! 🙂
God bless you loads.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
