The Choice is Yours…

1-09pm

I’m gearing up for a busy week. Colour Conference is in a week’s time and we have the CCFM Medical Morning on the same Saturday, so I’m splitting myself between Colour and CCFm. Mike is playing in a golf tournament Saturday & Sunday both this weekend and next, so my caddy shoes are out and our new outfits are ready! 😀 Then, I’ve also done the responsible thing and booked for an mammogram for Tuesday. My sister, Anne, will be proud of me! She had hers in January. Our Mom had breast cancer, so we need to have regular check-ups.

This morning’s show was plenty of ‘food for thought’ as we had Dr. Neville Wellington in the studio. My recent HBA1C test was 5.6 – upper limit of normal. (The HBA1C measure’s blood glucose from the last 3 months). My fasting blood sugar level this morning was within normal limits at 5.3.  No panic necessary, but just keep on keeping on with a healthy diet and exercise….always looking to find the balance and not become neurotic! What was interesting is that Wayne also had his fasting blood sugar done. His was 4.8. Then I ate a boiled egg and he ate a dozen or so chocolate peanuts. About 45 minutes later we retested – my blood sugar level had gone from 5.3 to 5.2! Wayne’s had gone from 4.8 to 6.6!

After the show, I went straight to Noordhoek…

Noordhoek Garden EmporiumWhere Ellie’s Deli was looking lovely…

Entrance to Ellies DeliEllie is certainly capitalizing on the recipes from the Real Meal Revolution, using the most well-known name on the book as a hook for healthy eating…

Cake menuI’m sure Tim Noakes has had many aspirations in his life…having a cake named after him not one of them! I actually ordered that one and enjoyed it very much…

Almond and orange cakeFriends gathered and we had a lovely morning. Sadly, I didn’t get a photo of us all there, but snapped this one after some had left…sorry to those who missed the photo…

FriendsEach day on air, I read the previous day’s post from Andrew & Vanessa Roebert. Their website is www.alivetoGod.com. What they said yesterday (and which I read on air this morning) is just excellent advice…

Proverbs 15:15

Every day is a terrible day for a miserable person, but a cheerful heart has a continual feast.’

Andrew & Vanessa Roebert write:
–  Every day we have the opportunity to see things in one of two ways.
–  We can see things from a negative perspective or a positive perspective.
–  We can be miserable or we can be cheerful.
–  Each day the choice is ours.

The choice is ours. We choose to enjoy the day. We choose to put difficult circumstances aside and focus on the positive. We choose to forgive. We choose to lay aside resentment and bitterness. An in doing all this, we actually choose life! The abundant life that God offers us. It is amazingly, our choice!

Yeah! It’s Friday afternoon! No Stress! God bless you richly!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
