The Carpet

So the plan was possibly to ditch the carpet before Christmas but not wanting to rush it, the carpet lives to enjoy a little more wear. Overall,  photographed, it doesn’t look so bad…

But get close up and the flaws are very evident…

We’ve got the mat to cover the worst!

We are content!

I went to gym and ran 5km in 35 minutes and 14 seconds. One day I hope to break 35 minutes. It is a false sense of accomplishment because it is inside, on a treadmill with no wind and no uphill! But it does show I’m getting fitter!

I worked for a about 4 or more hours today.  It has been very slow, but with staff in the company taking time off over Christmas, the work will pick up in the first week of January. Because I have been working less than half time, I decided to venture back onto Upwork.com and see if there were any suitable jobs. I discovered the voice over work I did was received very well. Energised by that and a strong cappuccino, I boldly applied for a job that seemed to fit my skill set. It’s writing email for a natural health and supplement company. I may not get it, but I’m certainly the demographic they are looking for. We’ll wait and see.

Mike and I then headed for the GP. This time, it was for the doctor to check out a nasty looking crusty lesion on Mike’s back. Yesterday it started to bleed. The doctor took a look at it and a whole lot of other moles and marks on Mike’s fair skin and declared that his skin was “not that bad.” The offending lesion is indeed a basal cell carcinoma and must come out, so back Mike will go on Tuesday to have it removed.  I will stop short of showing you a photo of that as well! 😀 I took a photo so Mike could see what it looked like.

#508 of my 1000 thanks is that this one is  basal and not melanoma!  Mike has had a couple of “possible” melanomas taken out.

After the doctor, we decided to go to Fish Hoek beach…which was pleasantly active but not crazy busy…

We then had dinner at the Galley. This was our view…

I’m reading Micah where the coming of Christ is predicted.

Micah 5: 2

But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”

And soon we celebrate His birth.

Now the weekend is upon us and I’m about to have a phone call with Stacey. She is 18 weeks pregnant today.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
