The Capago Experience

The main event of today was Mike going to apply for his Schengen visa.  The way it works if you are a South African passport holder, you need a Schengen visa to visit any of the countries in the European Union. As we are going to Italy, he had to go to the Capago offices.

These are in Observatory – opposite the River Club – in that area. All the preparation has to be done ahead of time and I got it all waxed. Mike has one advantage in that he is married to me and I happen to be blessed with British parents and thus have dual nationality – South African and British. Getting a Schengen visa is not that difficult. All you need to do is to go to their website and follow the directions. There are check lists to read and you can tick off each document as you have it. For us they included Mike’s passport,  colour photos, the Capago application form, proof of transport in and out of the region, proof of residence, proof of payment, proof of marriage, proof of EU passport  and a declaration from me.

I enjoyed putting it all together and today he had an appointment for 12-20pm. When I Googled “Capago Cape Town”, it ominously said “most people spend between 45 minutes and 3 hours here!” I’m glad to say, it was closer to the 45 minutes for Mike today.

Job done, he now waits ten days and he should be able to trundle back to Obs to pick it up. He should get an SMS to say where it is in the system and when it has arrived.

But the good news is that it’s done!

#368 of my 1000 thanks is the Schengen has been applied for and nothing was forgotten!  It’s going to be another day of thanks when it arrives!

I’ve said it before many times that the Word of God feeds me. Today I read these powerful words,

“Romans 10:9

If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

I’m so very grateful that I have the monumental blessing of belief.

I believe in Jesus Christ, that He died for my sin and that God raised Him from the dead.

It’s not about now.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
