There is a certain vibe that comes after Christmas and before New Year. It seems to be a sort of waiting that happens. Christmas is over and now we are waiting for the next thing which is New Year. After that, we go back to normal.
It’s a relaxing few days. Work is slow – with a few emails to deal with. It’s chilled and unpressurized. I enjoy it, but there is always something lurking beneath my easiness that makes me unsettled. I feel I should be doing something productive, instead of resting or reading. But then I remember the time of the year and justify my laziness. An afternoon sleep is allowed even if it is a week day. You don’t have to do anything. Just relax.
Doesn’t that sound good?
I am grateful for these days. Next week things will pick up and I will soon be back to full speed and the way my job turned out in October and November, I must brace myself to hit the road running. Looks like January may turn out like that as well.
So, Helga, read all the books you want, lie on your bed and watch the sunbirds bickering over the seed, do the hard Sudokos, lose yourself in a word game, watch House Hunters, sleep in the afternoon – 2017 is around the corner and once the 3rd of January dawns, you will need to get back to normal, so take the time off.
You are allowed!
Yeah!
And, the rest shall benefit you.
Mark 6:31
And He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.”
#143 of my 1000 thanks is a pleasant dose of Rest and Recuperation! 🙂
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
